Job Description

Alexander Daniels is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of an exciting manufacturing and retail business based in Lichfield, for an exciting full-time and permanent opportunity. Reporting to the Financial Director, the Management Accountant will be responsible for providing accurate business information to Directors and Senior Managers to assist in decision-making and analysing costs to drive process efficiency and increase profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the key interface between operations and finance teams regarding the accurate provision of cost of sales and inventory valuation.
  • Provide reporting, analysis and forecasting of routine and bespoke management information relating to customer sales and cost of sales.
  • Oversee the development of a product costing system as part of a major ERP IT project and new operations facilities.
  • Maintain costs for the purposes of stock valuation, pricing, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Work with the team to develop standard costing routines appropriate for business
  • Complete cost roll-ups at agreed intervals
  • Review actual and standards costs and their impacts on margin and inventory valuation
  • Period-end inventory valuation, provisions, analysis, and reporting and related period-end journals, balance sheet control accounts
  • Analysis and reporting of P&L
  • Maintain data within finance models for reporting purposes
  • Financial analysis, reporting and forecasting
  • Customer performance reporting and monitoring
  • To set and communicate the department vision, managing, coaching, and developing the team to achieve individual objectives while driving continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry. Standard costing experience and people development experience would be highly advantageous.

The standard hours of work are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:45pm on a Friday (38.5 hour week) but they offer flexible working around core hours, hybrid working (3 days a week in the office), contributory pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private medical, 3 x life insurance, cycle to work as well as various other benefit schemes.
