FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT £50k to £55k + benefits

Financial Accountant required to join a market leading business based in Lichfield. Salary on offer is between £50k to £55k dependent on experience along with remote and hybrid working options.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join our clients team in Lichfield. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager to manage the audit processes across European business units.

The successful Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate production and timely filing of financial statements, tax returns, and other statutory compliance documents. You will also assist in analysing the differences between USGAAP reporting and local statutory reporting, preparing bridging documentation, adjusting entries, and documenting differences on a semi-annual basis. Additionally, you will collaborate with the tax team to develop quarterly tax provisions and ensure compliance with local reporting requirements.

The Financial Accountants primary responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the audit processes, including the preparation of trial balances and associated working papers.
  • Liaise with local accountants to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information supplied.
  • Resolve queries and discrepancies in collaboration with local accountants.
  • Ensure financial statements are properly prepared, reviewed, and approved by the relevant parties.
  • Ensure timely filing of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Coordinate with the tax team to meet tax filing deadlines.
  • Map, bridge, and track differences between US GAAP and local statutory reporting.
  • Document processes and journal entries.
  • Manage tax payments in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support other processes as they arise.

The Financial Accountant will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified ad looking for 1st or 2nd move in industry.
  • Proven work experience as a financial accountant or similar role.
  • Experience with UK statutory audits, either as a practicing auditor or internal accountant.
  • Preparation of business reports for senior management decision-making.
  • Collaboration experience across multiple business units and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and reporting is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping and reconciliations.
  • Working understanding of tax regulations in the UK and across Europe.
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet, and database management.
