Systems Accountant, 9 to 12 month FTC, Nottingham, £60k to £75k DOE

Alexander Daniels have been exclusively engaged by a market leading technology business to help recruit a Systems Accountant on a 9 to 12 month contract in Nottingham

System Accountants Job Purpose
Acting as the focal point for Finance to help implement new business systems across the business. As a member of the ERP Project Team reporting to the Finance Director you play an important role in developing best practice, improving processing efficiencies and creating financial a commonality between the 2 finance departments.

Systems Accountant Accountabilities

• Focal point for finance, and act as finance ‘team leader’ progress actions
• Compare finance activities and processes between sites to create specifications in line with requirements and internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to determine finance requirements and solutions to business problems.
• Drive process change and make systematic recommendations for improvement.
• Identify best practice and simplify and improve process efficiencies.
• Create common:
• chart of accounts and cost centres between sites
• Scope customer, supplier, product fields, geographic regions and data setup
• Dashboards, Reports and documents
• Approval process and workflows
• Systems integration with third party systems and finance integrity/reconciliation
• Validation of data transfer and mapping
• Define and Plan finance User Acceptance Testing
• Produce and document process-flows, procedures and application system specifications.

Systems Accountants Skills / Experience

• Qualified accountant is preferred, such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA
• Previous experience working in a finance environment with financial systems.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP a distinct advantage
• Excellent written and communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and concisely.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own work.
• Experience in using Confluence and Jira desirable.
• Process oriented and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Package available for the successful Finance Director:

• Salary is between £60,000 to £75,000 depending on experience
• Hybrid working

• Holidays 25 days + Bank Holidays
