Management Accountant

Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of a large manufacturing business based in Telford on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering month-end results and analysis for multiple divisions within the business providing high quality data, information and reports to enable the financial position to be clearly understood by financial and non-financial managers within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end procedures to close off the general ledger and in line with month-end timetables
• Prepare and post accurate accruals and month-end journals to include revenue, materials, labour, manufacturing and overheads costs
• Produce month-end reports for review and provide supporting analysis that details variances to forecast and budget in revenue and costs
• Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Co-ordinatinng bank and supplier statement reconciliations
• Reconcile intercompany balances with other group companies, posting corrections and escalating issues where necessary
• At year end be a lead contact for allocated aspects of external audit including revenue, costs, stock, contracts, provisions, and working capital balances
• Being a key finance contact for each site
• Keep procedure notes up to date so that all processes are fully documented
• Training and development of other Finance team members, to help support with month-end/year-end procedures and tasks

The ideal candidate will be a part qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ ACCA) with 2 years’ experience working in a medium sized finance department with the ability to manipulate data efficiently and use models to present results to finance and non-finance users. You must have previous experience using a general ledger system in preparing month-end/year-end journals and reports and month-end/year-end routines (journals, ledger close, reconciliations, analysis, reports). Experience working in a manufacturing environment using SAP would be an advantage along with an understanding of standard costing.
