Job Description

Alexander Daniels are recruiting a Management Accountant for a business based in south Birmingham on a 12 Month FTC. This business is thriving within their industry, performing excellently and requires some additional support for an estimated period of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI’s, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist in the preparation of the year end accounts for audit.
  • Assist in the annual budget process, producing reports to assist managers in preparation of their departmental budget.
  • Analysing overheads, investigate variances versus the annual budget/forecast.
  • Analysing and evaluating job costs against the company’s internal costing matrix, highlighting and reporting variances in a timely manner.
  • Business partnering with Departmental Managers on projects and cost saving initiatives
  • Producing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.

The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar role and be working towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA). A good level of Excel skills is also essential, Pivot tables & VLookups a minimum. Previous experience in a Manufacturing/ engineering environment would be preferred.

This role is hybrid and would require you to reliably commute to the office location atleast 2 days a week.
