Job Description

Alexander Daniels are partnering with a well‑established Solihull‑based business to recruit an Accounts Assistant. In this role, you will support the finance team with daily transactional accounting tasks, helping maintain accurate financial records and efficient financial processes. Key responsibilities include managing the purchase ledger, handling accounts receivable, completing regular bank reconciliations, and providing wider support across the finance function.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries.
  • Process and match supplier invoices.
  • Prepare supplier payment runs.
  • Raise customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Allocate receipts and monitor outstanding debt.
  • Support credit control and escalate overdue accounts.
  • Complete regular bank reconciliations.
  • Investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate cash postings.
  • Assist with petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with month‑end tasks.
  • Maintain accurate financial records.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role.
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger and accounts receivable.
  • Good accuracy, organisation, and communication skills.
  • Competent with accounting software and Excel.
  • AAT Level 2/3 desirable.
