  • Set monthly performance targets for the team and individual Credit Controllers; monitor progress and provide assistance as needed.
  • Coach and train team members, conduct regular appraisals, and offer feedback to enhance skills.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of customer ledgers with Credit Controllers to ensure action plans are in place.
  • Gather and analyse relevant customer financial data to assess and set credit limits for new and existing accounts.
  • Oversee the daily monitoring of credit-held orders, working closely with the team and Sales to resolve issues and maximise sales.
  • Monitor aged debt, focusing on the resolution of issues and ensuring timely action on 90+ day debt.
  • Promote credit-related awareness within the company by collaborating with Country Managers and Sales Directors.
  • Resolve customer disputes in collaboration with Customer Services, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Manage seasonal order-book procedures, collaborating with Sales and Customer Services to address potential issues.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of cash, credit notes, and journals.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for the Credit Control team.
  • Provide monthly management reports detailing team performance, target achievement, and action plans.
  • Approve legal action on accounts as recommended by Credit Controllers, coordinating with the legal department as needed.
  • Authorise write-offs up to specified limits, ensuring all paperwork is compliant with SOX requirements.
  • Participate actively in monthly review and Team Leader meetings.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for team members, agree on action plans, and provide coaching when required.
  • Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of credit control or related experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse balance sheets, P&L, and trends, with a broad understanding of business goals.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of an additional European language is advantageous.

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary up to £35k (depending on experience)
  • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • Hybrid working model: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home
