Job Description

Alexander Daniels are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant for a business based in Birmingham. This business offers a great work culture and the opportunity for the successful applicant to join a small team on a full-time basis or part time reduced hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating and inputting Weekly timesheets
  • Recording Payroll data through SAGE
  • Calculating overtime, salary and work pattern changes.
  • Inputting New Starters and Leavers
  • Processing payslips and P45’s
  • Following correct GDPR guidelines.
  • Resolving issues employees have with timesheets, payslips and other payroll matters.
  • Changing employee bank details, when necessary, to process payments accurately.
  • Maintaining the Payroll general inbox.
  • Processing SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP.
  • Processing Pension Opt Out Forms.
  • Assisting with Pension Auto-Enrol.

Essential Skills:

  • All applicants must have a strong foundation in maths and general organisation skills.
  • Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables.
  • Attention to detail
  • Sensitivity and understanding
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interpersonal rules
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
