Job Description

Alexander Daniels are working with a leading business based in Birmingham who are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager on a full time basis. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll function for the business ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time as well as leading a team of administrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor team of payroll administrators.
  • Accurately process payroll data within the payroll system.
  • Calculate all statutory payments / deductions.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-end).
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC submissions and all legislative deadlines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with HR, finance, auditors, and external stakeholders.

Essential requirements:

  • 5 years experience managing a team of payroll administrators.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, statutory deductions, and HMRC reporting).
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Experience with Payroll Management Systems and Excel.
  • Confident communicator and leader.
