Planning Accountant required to join a leading Financial Services organisation in Telford on a 6 month contract. The Planning Accountant will assist the Finance Manager and relevant staff both internal and external to the business in all aspects of financial responsibility. The Planning Accountant will proactively challenge departmental processes in order to improve the financial results and facilitate any required changes/improvements within and across departments. The Planning Accountant will develop internal and external finance relationships with appropriate stakeholders to meet service agreements.

What is on offer for the successful Planning Accountant:
Salary £35,000 to £40,000 + market leading benefits (pro rata)
Location: Telford

The Planning Accountants Key Responsibilities will include:
• Completing complex forecasting and planning reconciliations between GFA, SR Costs, Reveal, TM1 and Oracle.
• Support to Divisional Cost Controller
• Consolidated expenses financial reporting focussed on Plan and Forecasts including detailed cost analysis, production of actionable commentary and interpretation of findings.
• Provision of reporting in relation to cost trends and forecast results, and designing actions to mitigate any risks to the cost base.
• Preparation of sections for the reporting pack focussed on forecast views together with commentary

• Provide support to Systems Administration of TM1 forecasting & reporting software.
• Provide other ad hoc support to the Head of Expense Planning & Reporting.

The successful Planning Accountant will have the following Skills and Experience:
• Qualified or Part Qualified ACCA or ACMA
• At least 5 years’ post qualified experience in a finance department (or relevant qualification).
• Experience of working within a regulatory environment.
• Experience in implementation of new financial systems and/or processes.
• Experience of system interrogation.
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work well in a team or independently, consulting and co-ordinating others appropriately in the wider function and business.
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to apply specialist knowledge to improve processes.
• Computer literate and competent with all required operating systems and Microsoft Office products
