AD Energy Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a leading global oilfield services company which manufactures, services and repairs products for deep water production equipment and specific drilling services. We are keen to speak with a experienced level 2 NDT Technician competent in manual ultrasonic testing (MUT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) of welds in pipe and plate.
Reporting to Inspection Supervisor, working as part of the quality control team to support fabrication and welding operations in manufacturing and remanufacturing of standard connector products and capital drilling equipment. The role may require occasional site inspections outside and within the UK.
Practical experience in a fast-paced engineering/fabrication environment with working knowledge of health, safety, environment and quality procedures is essential.
Experience working with relevant industry codes and standards such as ASME, Section V and VIII; API 1104 and Spec 16A or BS EN ISO 17640. Experience of using flexible or rigid MPI coils is advantageous.
It is preferred but not essential qualified in MUT/AUT of forgings or visual testing (VT) of welds and forgings. It is an advantage if candidates hold current BOSIET certification.
You may be required to perform inspections outside and within the UK for short periods and if certified, work offshore for an enhanced rate.
Maintaining a safe working area and performing tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Preparation of NDT records all products in accordance with project quality control plans and specifications.
Accurate reporting of defect size and location including sketches.
Verification of NDT equipment prior to use.
Performance of NDT activities.
Liaising with clients and 3rd party inspectors on a regular basis.
Maintenance of traceability logs in the fabrication and welding department.
Supporting final inspection operations when required.
Uploading completed NDT Reports to the document control system.

Ensure all QHSE and departmental procedures, policies and work instructions are adhered
Fulfil responsibilities under the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of colleagues. In particular give full attention to:
Risk Assessments/COSHH Assessments and the control measures identified therein.
Compliance with all HSE warning and information signs and Company assigned PPE requirements.
Fulfil responsibilities with all Company Environmental Initiatives, in particular Waste disposal and segregation.
Qualified PCN Level 2 (or ISO 9712 equivalent) in MUT and MPI.
