Job Description

Alexander Daniels is recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for a business based in Dudley. This role offers great exposure in a growing business, working closely with the Financial Controller you will gain invaluable experience and have a built-in progression plan for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review profit and loss accounts, calculating and posting accruals and prepayments as appropriate.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers
  • Reconciliation of various balance sheet control accounts
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for divisional and finance management
  • Review sales and stock losses and investigate variances, all business units
  • Review & reconcile sales tax for required declaration
  • Support the budget generation and forecast submissions
  • Processing and reconciling intercompany accounts
  • Assist with the Audit process
  • Provide support to the transactional team both Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with business unit teams and third parties
  • Maintains high internal & external customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame
  • Role will require travel to other business sites to support operational & financial requirements

 
Essential requirements:

  • Good standard of literacy and numerical skills
  • Good IT Skills (particularly Microsoft Excel)
  • Strong problem solving &analytical skills with an eye for detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to deal with large volumes of data
  • Ability to provide interpretation of accounts to non-finance staff, with ability to talk to staff at all levels
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers
  • Receptive to change
  • Pro-active and able to work effectively in team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively using email and telephone
  • Compliance with the company values and required levels of the competency framework

 
The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar role and be working towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA). A good level of Excel skills is also essential (VLOOKUP, PIVOTS). This role is predominantly office based with some flexibility.
