Alexander Daniels is currently recruiting for a Credit Control Supervisor on behalf of our client who are a serviced based business based in Walsall. Our client are one of the largest in the UK at what they do and this was achieved by being committed to providing an exceptional service to their clients. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Credit Control Supervisor to join their finance team at their head office in Walsall. As the Credit Control Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supervising our credit control department.
Position Overview:
The Credit Control Supervisor will lead and supervise a team of three experienced Credit Controllers to ensure the efficient and effective management of our credit and collections processes. This role requires a strong leader who can drive results, optimise cash flow, minimise credit risk, and maintain positive relationships with our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of three experienced Credit Controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure team performance meets or exceeds targets.
- Credit Policy: Develop and maintain the company’s credit policy, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while aligning with business objectives.
- Collections: Monitor and manage the collections process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels. You will also have your own set of customers to manager.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on the company’s overdue debt, aging analysis, and credit risk exposure to senior management.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance credit control processes and procedures to optimise efficiency and minimise bad debt.
- Customer Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with customers, addressing inquiries, disputes, and payment arrangements professionally and diplomatically.
- Legal Action: Collaborate with 3rd party legal counsel and initiate legal proceedings when necessary to recover outstanding debts, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Credit Monitoring: Regularly review customer accounts for signs of financial distress and proactively manage potential credit risks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideally CICM qualified (or studying towards it)
- Proven experience in credit management, with a minimum 10-15 years experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills at 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience.
- Familiarity with credit risk assessment and risk monitoring methodologies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in reporting.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing credit and collections in the UK.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.
