Job Description

Alexander Daniels are proud to be exclusively partnered with a market-leading manufacturing business based in Derbyshire in recruiting for a Finance Manager for their UK division. The business operates globally and has grown significantly through acquisition with plans for further growth. Reporting into the UK Finance Director, you will be responsible for tracking financial performance, providing financial information, forecasting and analysis, helping to guide decision making and set strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial guidance and support to help the company meet its goals
  • Be a key member of the UK finance team, offering insightful analysis, developing KPIs, and improving business analysis
  • Ensure compliance with authority levels, ongoing audits, and attention to detail
  • Contribute to finance transformation, collaborating with IT, Operations, and Finance teams
  • Act as the second-in-command to the Finance Director and assisting with adhoc projects
  • Lead the finance team and oversee training and development
  • Create and manage budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts
  • Manage tax issues and ensure compliance
  • Optimise working capital efficiency to improve cash flow
  • Engage with external stakeholders like banks, customers, and suppliers on financial matters
  • Oversee external audits, review results, and recommend audited financial statements for approval
  • Support finance and business aspects of tenders and contract negotiations
  • Establish and maintain financial systems and controls to protect company assets and enhance financial performance
  • Create business cases and capital expenditure requests

The ideal candidate will be Part or Fully Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA). This is a number 2 in Finance role based at Derby however you may be required to other sites on occasion therefore candidates must be open to travel. Candidates must have experience in a similar role particularly within a manufacturing/standard costing environment. Experience of contract accounting and strong technical knowledge would be beneficial.
