Job Description

Alexander Daniels Credit Division are excited to be recruiting for a Credit Manager on behalf of a leading business based in Aldridge on a full-time, permanent basis. As Credit Manager, you will be responsible for a team of 6 credit controllers to ensue effective credit control, credit risk management and cash allocation.

We are looking for an experienced credit manager who is a strong people manager but also has experience and knowledge of reviewing, improving, and implementing processes and policies.

This position would be well-suited to a Credit Manager who has credit control experience within the construction sector

As the Credit Manager, you’ll primarily be responsible for:

  • Line management of the credit control team of six staff
  • Ensure regional management adheres to company policies and procedures for debt administration and collection.
  • Set and regularly review credit limits and ratings based on third-party evidence, current trading levels, and past experience.
  • Obtain credit insurance when necessary.
  • Ensure timely production of all sales documents.
  • Generate month-end reports and direct debit targets within the designated period.
  • Correctly post and allocate all payment receipts.
  • Assist regional managers and credit controllers in meeting debtor day targets.
  • Inform the finance director and regional manager about high-risk or over-trading customers and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Manage relationships with external solicitors and oversee the issuance of legal proceedings, working with appointed receivers/administrators as needed.
  • Negotiate initial Credit Reference and Credit Insurance contracts.
  • Comply with all company health, safety, environment, and sustainability requirements.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone to:

  • Ideally CICM qualified or studying
  • At least 5 years of people management within a credit control environment
  • Strong understanding of credit insurance and credit risk analysis
  • Good excel skills
  • Strong communicator that can build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of reviewing, improving and implementing credit control policies
  • Experience within construction sector (Desirable)
