Job Description

Alexander Daniels are proud to be recruiting for a Junior Finance Analyst on behalf of a large manufacturing operation based in Telford on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be expected to have a good understanding of the business and the various sectors that their products are sold into in order to analyse trends, put forward new, and challenge existing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compose a set of monthly reports from the trial balance
  • Sales and margin analysis based on the order intake
  • Variance analysis with commentary for the cost centre holder
  • Stock analysis and provide month end stock reports including stock adjustment analysis
  • Provide support and cover for the Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant as needed
  • Support with external audits
  • Provide adhoc analysis and reporting to assist colleagues with understanding financial information
  • Continuous data cleansing
  • Support forecasting and variance analysis to budgets throughout the business
  • Identify and investigate areas to improve company profitability

This role would suit a candidate who is experienced in the manufacturing industry, able to interpret and manipulate data. You must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as being a confident user of Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs as a minimum). Power BI and/or SAP experience would also be an advantage but by no means essential.
