Alexander Daniels are exclusively working with a well-established, multi-site organisation to recruit a talented Management Accountant for their group finance function. You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic planning, and leading a small team within the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts across multiple entities
- Deliver meaningful financial insights through detailed performance analysis, including variance reporting and margin evaluation
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring robust and realistic financial plans
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable recommendations to support senior leadership decision-making
- Present financial information clearly to stakeholders across the business, including non-finance colleagues
- Oversee period-end close activities, ensuring all financial adjustments (e.g. accruals, prepayments, depreciation) are appropriately recorded
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Manage reconciliation processes for bank accounts and other key control accounts
- Support the year-end audit process, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors
- Monitor inventory performance, including cost tracking, reporting and supporting stock control processes
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and regularly reconciled
- Maintain the integrity and structure of the financial ledger and chart of accounts
- Lead, mentor and develop junior finance team members, conducting regular performance reviews
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and efficiency across the function
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Provide support on ad hoc projects and initiatives as required by senior finance leadership
Essential Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), finalist may be considered.
- Proven experience in a management accounting role within a fast-paced or high-volume environment
- Demonstrable experience supervising or leading a team
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills (Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Sumifs)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities
