Operational Buyer

Alexander Daniels is currently recruiting for an Operational Buyer for a full-time, permanent opportunity on behalf of an award-winning manufacturing business based near Cannock. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of all supply chain-related activity, attached to their largest commercial customers.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for effective material planning and the correct release of production orders
• Ensuring shortages are managed to production orders and kept to a minimum so as to not affect production output
• Procurement of items in line with demand
• Updating lead times in the CRM system
• Dealing with suppliers and communicating with customer service regularly
• Assisting with implementing supplier agreements and strategy
• Supplier selection
• Contribute to the customer forecasting process
• Attending and contributing to departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

 
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, specifically material planning and buying experience within a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of Navision and intermediate Excel skills would also be an advantage.
