Today, Aurora is a purpose-driven network created by Alexander Daniels to connect, support and elevate women across the finance industry in the Midlands and beyond.
Built on the belief that meaningful relationships drive real career progression, Aurora brings together ambitious professionals, industry leaders and emerging talent in an environment designed for genuine connection, not transactional networking.

What's behind the Aurora name?
Aurora literally means “dawn” or “first light,” and in mythology refers to the goddess of the dawn, symbolising new beginnings, visibility and momentum.
In this context, Aurora represents a space where women in finance can step into new opportunities, build their presence and progress their careers, supported by a strong and connected community.
Despite progress, many women in finance still face barriers to visibility, progression and access to the right networks.
Aurora exists to change that.
We’re creating a space where conversations are honest, opportunities are shared, and success is collective.

Meet our Founder: Laura Roberston
Laura has worked in the recruitment industry for over 15 years beginning her career in accounts and payroll, ultimately setting up and automating a shared service centre integrating 8 recruitment businesses.
She is now experienced in recruiting roles from transactional level up to Qualified and everything in between, both on an interim and permanent basis, and for a variety of industry sectors.
Laura now heads up our East Midlands division at Alexander Daniels and focuses on Qualified and Executive appointments within Leicester, Derby and Nottingham.
