Job Description

Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant on behalf of an international manufacturing business based in Telford on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Project Accountant will ensure that projects are carefully controlled by tracking key metrics and keeping accurate records, whilst providing a business partnering service to support Continuous Improvement projects, evaluating financial returns and implementing robust trackers, metrics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain customer records, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies
  • Maintaining and completing cost records for approval prior to invoicing the customer
  • Provide sales, margins and balance sheet input for financial forecasting and planning
  • Completion of monthly reconciliation to general ledger balances
  • Preparation and presentation of month end pack to senior management
  • Monthly cost reviews with other internal stakeholders
  • Preparation of cashflows
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Lead and co-ordinate customer audits
  • Provide financial information to support with customer quotations
  • Ensuring that prices are correct in the system and understanding any differences
  • Tracking and documenting sales provisions
  • Support Accounts Receivable with customer billing disputes and overdue payments

The ideal candidate will be part-qualified or finalist ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent experience) with a background in project accounting in the manufacturing/industrial sectors. You must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills and cost tracking/CAPEX experience. Experience of SAP and/or Hyperion would be an advantage but by no means essential.

This is a permanent opportunity working for a business who are going from strength to strength. You will be working in new, modern state of the art offices and the hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm, Friday 8:30am to 2pm (candidates looking for part-time hours with the relevant experience may also be considered).

The salary on offer is between £30-40k dependant on experience level and you will also be entitled to 25 days holiday, company pension and free on-site parking.
