Management Accountant – Walsall – Hybrid (4 days office and 1 day WFH) – £50,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience + Holidays + Pension

Alexander Daniels have been engaged with a market leading business to help them recruit an experience Management Accountant. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will lead and coordinate the monthly management accounts production process and to prepare the resulting management accounts reporting outputs for both Group holding company and its subsidiaries. The Management Accountant will work with the Group Financial Controller and others in the Finance management team to ensure that the required quality of service is provided by the Finance function to senior management.

The Management Accountants key duties and tasks will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the monthly management accounts production process
  • Reviewing the detail of all P&L operating expense lines; generating month-end prepayments and accruals
  • Producing monthly management accounts and group consolidated accounts
  • Ensuring that all intra-group loans & interest and other intra-group transactions are accounted correctly
  • Producing an intra-group indebtedness matrix monthly to support group consolidation accounts balances
  • Providing monthly accounts and related reports to business management, business owner and lending banks
  • Providing cost analysis, variance analysis to functional directors and managers
  • Providing financial insight in relation to cost control and investment decisions
  • Working with functional directors and managers to produce departmental operating expense budgets and forecasts
  • Working with the commercial finance team on annual budget and forecast P&L’s
  • Producing balance sheet and cash flow dimensions for budgets

The successful Management Accountant will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • 3 years post qualification experience in a similar role in a substantial industrial business
  • Hands-on working knowledge of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Knowledge of inventory management and inventory accounting with up-to-date knowledge of Accounting Standards
  • Experience of producing monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts
  • Knowledge of intra-group and intercompany accounting and group consolidations
  • Experience of business-partnering functional directors and managers
  • Experience of developing P&L budgets and forecasts and converting those into cash flow forecasts
  • Proficient Excel user with strong ERP systems experience and capability.
