Alexander Daniels are currently seeking a Financial Accountant on behalf of their Walsall-based household name client on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the production of year end statutory accounts, advising on financial reporting issues and support the year end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the key contact for the external auditors working closely with Finance team to complete the annual audit
Posting monthly intercompany transactions and invoices
Group financial reporting across multiple systems
Controlling all balance sheets
Ensuring that all statutory submissions are on time, accurate and compliant
Engaging with senior stakeholders to gain a good understanding of the business position
Ad hoc project work to support senior management
Keeping up to date with changes to UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting frameworks
The ideal candidate will be a newly or nearly qualified Accountant or equivalent experience with technical knowledge of financial reporting and accounts, ideally working within a retail or distribution business. Knowledge of the external audit process and preparation of statutory financial statements is essential as well as possessing strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
