Job Description

Alexander Daniels are currently working with a valued client to recruit a part-time Purchase Ledger Clerk on a fixed-term contract for 3 months to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a busy and supportive team, processing approximately 150 invoices per week within a flexible 25-hour working pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process around 150 invoices weekly
  • Match, batch, and code invoices in the accounting system
  • Ensure all invoices are authorised and coded correctly
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Prepare invoices for payment runs
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all processed invoices
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative duties as required

Essential:

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger or invoice processing
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with finance software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and meet weekly processing targets
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar part-time or temporary finance role
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
