Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: West Midlands, UK

Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 + potential long-term equity incentive

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 35 hours/week (Mon-Thu 9am-5pm, Fri 9am-2pm)

About my client

I am working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Kidderminster to help them recruit an experiences Financial Controller to join the senior leadership team. My client has a strong reputation for quality and service and are embarking on an exciting long-term growth strategy.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for the company’s financial operations. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director, Managing Director and senior stakeholders to drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and help shape the future of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and R&D claims
  • Lead and develop the finance team
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC, VAT, CIS, and statutory requirements
  • Collaborate with auditors and external advisors
  • Implement and improve financial systems and controls
  • Provide timely and accurate financial insights to support business growth
  • Support board-level reporting and presentations

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in finance leadership within SMEs or similar environments
  • ACA, ACCA, or CMA qualified
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 200
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and analytical thinking
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
