Job Description

Alexander Daniels are working exclusively with a successful, privately owned organisation to recruit a Finance Manager during an exciting period of sustained growth and operational expansion. This role will be central to strengthening the finance function, enhancing financial visibility across the business, and supporting the Finance Director in driving robust financial governance and strategic decision‑making.

The Finance Manager will take ownership of core financial processes, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and play a key role in developing improved systems, controls, and reporting frameworks as the business scales. This is a hands‑on, commercially aware role suited to someone who enjoys both operational detail and contributing to wider business strategy.

This is a fully office‑based position, and it is essential that candidates are fully CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and fixed asset schedules, ensuring all entries are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal controls.
  • Maintain a clear and accurate balance sheet, investigate variances, and provide insightful commentary to support decision‑making. Review and refine cash‑flow forecasts to ensure the business maintains strong liquidity.
  • Collate, analyse, and present monthly financial results, KPIs, and performance insights to the Senior Leadership Team, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end production of monthly management accounts, ensuring processes are efficient, well‑documented, and consistently applied across the finance function.
  • Deliver high‑quality monthly reporting packs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with business needs.
  • Build strong working relationships with operational and commercial teams, acting as a trusted advisor and helping non‑finance colleagues understand financial performance and drivers.
  • Support the development of quarterly forecasts, working closely with department heads to gather assumptions, challenge inputs, and ensure forecasts are realistic and aligned with business strategy.
  • Manage the consolidation of management accounts across multiple business units or cost centres, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process, providing financial modelling, scenario analysis, and supporting documentation. Contribute to funding discussions, investment cases, and strategic planning activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting quality, and strengthen internal controls as the business continues to grow.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring all documentation is prepared and queries are resolved promptly.
