Senior Finance Leadership Role | Growing Engineering & Manufacturing Group

Are you a commercially minded Finance Manager looking for a role where you can genuinely influence business performance?

A successful and growing engineering group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function across multiple businesses. Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you’ll become a key member of the senior leadership team, providing the financial insight, governance and strategic support needed to drive continued growth.

This is far more than a traditional reporting role. You’ll have the opportunity to shape financial strategy, improve business performance, influence decision-making and drive process improvements across the organisation.

The Opportunity

As Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the finance function while acting as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders across the group.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and managing the day-to-day finance function
• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Managing cash flow, treasury and banking activities
• Overseeing payroll, VAT, PAYE, CIS and statutory compliance
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Developing meaningful KPIs and management reporting
• Delivering commercial analysis and business insight
• Supporting operational and project performance through robust financial information
• Driving continuous improvement across finance processes and systems
• Managing and developing an Accounts Assistant
• Partnering with senior leaders to support strategic decision-making

About You

We’re looking for an ambitious finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and a proactive mindset.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience managing a finance function
• AAT qualification, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or be qualified by experience
• Strong experience producing management accounts
• Sound knowledge of payroll, VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance
• Experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and organisational abilities
• Confidence working closely with senior stakeholders
• A track record of improving systems, processes and reporting

Experience within engineering, manufacturing or a project-based environment would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
