Assistant Finance Manager

Alexander Daniels are partnering with an exciting and growing business to recruit an ambitious early-career finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong hands-on ledger experience who is ready to develop into management accounting, with a clear progression pathway towards a future Finance Manager position.

The successful candidate will have built a solid foundation in transactional finance and is now eager to broaden their responsibilities, gain professional qualifications, and develop their commercial and financial management skills within a supportive environment.

Ideal Experience

You will have approximately 2-5 years’ finance or accounts experience, ideally gained within an SME, commercial, or industry setting.

You should have strong practical experience across several of the following areas:

• Purchase ledger
• Sales ledger
• Bank reconciliations
• Supplier reconciliations
• Customer account reconciliations
• Payment runs
• Credit control
• Cashbook and general ledger maintenance
• Accounting software systems
• Accruals and prepayments
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Journal postings
• Month-end processes

Exposure to the following areas would be advantageous:

• VAT returns
• Stock and inventory accounting

Qualifications

Candidates who are currently studying towards an AAT qualification are particularly encouraged to apply. However, we will also consider individuals with strong practical accounting experience who have not yet had the opportunity to pursue formal qualifications.
