Alexander Daniels has partnered with an ambitious, growing business in Loughborough that is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-3 years’ accounting experience to progress their career and gain exposure across a broad range of accounting functions.
While experience in manufacturing is desirable, it is not essential – the right candidate will be eager to learn and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Maintain and process accurate bookkeeping and accounting records.
Prepare and post month-end accruals, prepayments, and journals.
Perform fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support the production of management accounts.
Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities.
Ensure deadlines are met and reports are accurate and timely.
Support ongoing projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
Work closely with senior accountants and management to support business decision-making.
2-3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a commercial or manufacturing environment.
Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills with experience in accruals, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Working towards or holding at least ACCA or CIMA Primary Level, with studies ongoing.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Inquisitive and proactive, with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure, managing multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP systems advantageous).
Competitive salary of up to £35,000 (depending on experience).
