Senior AR Billing and Reporting Specialist

 

We’re partnering with a well‑established organisation in Derby that’s looking for a confident and detail‑driven Senior AR Billing and Reporting Specialist to take ownership of key billing cycles, reporting outputs and financial controls. Location: Derby

Salary: Up to £32,500

Contract: Permanent – 37 Hours per Week

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Running and validating system‑generated invoice batches

• Processing manual billing and credit requests with correct coding and authorisation

• Managing Direct Debit runs, including preparation, posting and reconciliation

• Producing month‑end billing reports and reconciling to the general ledger

• Preparing data submissions for external stakeholders

• Creating monthly KPIs for Billing, AR and Credit Control

• Providing insights and analysis on trends, variances and exceptions

• Maintaining audit trails and ensuring documentation is complete and compliant

• Offering guidance on billing processes and system best practice

• Ensuring statements are issued in line with SLAs

• Supporting audit requirements and wider finance reporting needs

• Identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years’ billing experience within a fast‑paced finance function

• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive queries professionally

• Highly organised, analytical and confident working to deadlines

• Excellent attention to detail and a process‑driven mindset

• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Enthusiastic, adaptable and proactive in identifying improvements

• GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English essential

• AAT or CICM qualification essential

• Experience in regulated or complex environments is a bonus
