We’re partnering with a well‑established organisation in Derby that’s looking for a confident and experienced Senior Credit Controller to take ownership of a busy ledger and play a key role in strengthening financial processes. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys mentoring others, and knows how to resolve queries with professionalism and care, this could be your next big move.

Location: Derby

Salary: Up to £33,500

Contract: Permanent – 37 Hours per Week

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing and monitoring a busy ledger, ensuring timely action and compliance

• Acting as the first point of escalation for complex queries and complaints

• Working closely with internal and external teams to resolve payment issues

• Issuing statements in line with SLAs and organisational standards

• Preparing cases for third‑party solicitors when required

• Supporting with Direct Debit collections and cash allocation

• Maintaining accurate process documentation and identifying opportunities for improvement

• Managing the credit control inbox and ensuring swift query resolution

• Providing day‑to‑day guidance and mentorship to a Credit Control Assistant

• Supporting audit requirements and contributing to financial reporting, including bad debt provision

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a fast‑paced credit control environment

• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally

• Confident, organised, detail‑driven and results‑focused

• Solid analytical skills and full proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Enthusiastic, adaptable and proactive in identifying process improvements

• Experience in social housing or the charity sector is a bonus

• GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English essential; AAT/CICM desirable
